“Therefore the prudent keep silent at that time, for it is an evil time.” The Old Testament prophet, Amos, in chapter 5, verse 13, 787 B. C.

Courageous Happiness
“Those who won our independence…believed liberty to be the secret of happiness and courage to be the secret of liberty.” Louis Brandeis
Ultimate Attraction
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” (and attraction, I might add, especially when established and sustained in Truth). Da Vinci, as ‘tweeted’ by Pastor David McGovern, 2/1/23 (comment added by ‘dkb’ 2/3/23)
Be
“Be Still…and Know that I AM God.” And we should also know that ‘our doing’ better flows and transforms when it’s from ‘our being’…in Jesus’ Powerful, Healing Presence.
What GOD Wants…
“I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image-making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to Me? Do you know what I want? I want justice–oceans of it. I want fairness–rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want.” God, in Amos 5:21-24 (MSG).
RADICALLY…NEW!
“God promises that the glory of His People will demand a glorious creation to live in. So the fallen creation will obtain the very freedom from futility and evil and pain that the church is given. So when God “makes all things new,” He makes us new spiritually and morally, He makes us new physically and, then, He makes the whole creation new so that our environment fits our perfected spirits and bodies.” John Piper, “Behold, I Make All Things New”
Cry Out, America!
“Oh, that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; when His candle shined upon my head, and when by His Light I walked through darkness.” Job 29:2,3. We must also seek Jesus for HIS Light in our hearts and hands as well, i.e. “repentance to…life, life-in-the-full; eternal life, beginning at our New Birth in Christ.”
What Ever Happened to the Sacred?
In our desire to ‘be special,’ we have rendered ‘everything-the-same’ and, perhaps unwittingly, robbed ourselves of the beauty, awe, dignity and reverence of the sacred. For example, our emphasis, if not outright exaltation, of ‘the Marketplace Minister’ to a near or same-level position as a Minister of the Gospel. Both are needed and, therefore, important…but who (and what) is MOST important? And how about ‘sex-outside-marriage’ as another, even more graphic example?
